Some units look like they need their artwork to be redone, i spent like 5 minutes on this so its not to good but im thinking about redoing the soldier/recruit/vetsoldier here is a demo. I didnt spend too much time but i got a little bit of help from my father, as you probably can tell the one on the left is mine, the middle is the one being used now and the one on the right is a Terrador's finest. Its hard to see from how small the picture is so i advise you to copy the image and paste it onto paint and enlarge it to see it in better detail. This is actually my first Wesnoth Sprite but it think it turned out ok, i can do the other actions (attack) etc.. if need be. Please post you comments, constructive criticism is welcome.

The Soldier is fine as it is. No one else has mentioned anything wrong with it.

Flameslash is right. If you want to make a sprite, redo the recruit; that one kind of stinks.

Lol i just did this in 5 minutes, so its a real rough draft but i basicaly shortened my version of the soldier and put on the normal soldiers head.

Make the rifle a pistol, and maybe make the armor black or blue?

Blue. I think the armor should be blue. And this make me think of the hole color thing. Why do we have green units on the moon. We should go with white, gray and light blue units. not green and red!!! Also why is the sniper wearing leaves on his back if he is on the moon?

If we made this guys armor black or blue wouldnt we have to go through the entire soldier line and change their armor as well? Besides the previous recruit had green and purple armor with a little bit of tan on the arms so this isn't much different.

Any ways i shortened the Rifle so now it looks like a SMG or a large pistol. Here i have the recruit with the rifle, a unarmed recruit, and the bottom one is my newer version.

That looks REALLY good. I like it. I vote Mainline!

Other votes?

Also, try to redo it and make it blue; as the blue is different from the other units, and would make more sence. I LOVE the SMG!

As for the units being other colors than gray, that is for when they have a terrestrial battle.

Looks good, but make the gun gray, so it can be seen better. Also, if you want, make the guy have a knife instead, as I am pondering on making it have a small dagger instead.

Finally finished, thanks for all the advice and constructive criticism. Im going to make another one soon that features him using a knife but this is what i have right now. Here you can see the many stages and evolution of the recruit sprite, also featured is his current art Rolling Eyes and his new look, in light blue armor Very Happy Feel free to comment.

It will work for now, But I am thinking of changing it to a knife, as that is what the Recruit's weapon is going to be changed to.

I can recolor it to be light blue, and he has no weapons, which would fit with the new Recruit I am working on...

Then again, I like the Blue one windkin made.

Sounds more like a zed tactic than a terradorian one as they probably only send out trained soldiers while the zeds are forced to use whatever they can get their hands on to defend their homeplanets.
